It's been a busy two months of renewals and recommitments for our MOPS groups and MOPS Volunteer Team. The MOPS year follows the US school calendar, so April and May are our busy times of collecting group information and updating our systems to reflect which groups across the world are recommitting to another great years of MOPS.
In Africa, the groups carried on doing great things for the Kingdom. Take a look:
April started off with a surprise baby shower in Kenya to support a mom-to-be!
Another sweet example of MOPS support was this group in Rwanda that showed up to bless this new mom with gifts -
Unfortunately, not all of the encouragement visits were so sweet. Our regional MOPS Cohort Leader, Penlope, and MOPS Ambassador, Pastor Alison, for Western Uganda had a solemn visit with the family of children that recently lost their mother from one of the local MOPS groups.
Our Kenya Cohort Leader Pamela also recently had an accident and is homebound caring for her broken leg. Her local MOPS group and our MOPS Kenya ambassador, Pastor Sammy, have visited her to provide encouragement during these painful weeks of recovery.
I love that our MOPS groups are really standing together with each other in times of joy and sorrow. What a beautiful example of Christ's love.
In Eastern Uganda, Cohort leaders Sylvia and Meble were busy for the better part of April visiting each of our MOPS groups in their region, ensuring they had the curriculum and materials and training for a successful MOPS year. Here is a snapshot of their adventures below:
To highlight MOPS Nigeria this month, they have had the blessing of monthly in-person leader's meetings and are busy preparing for a big empowerment program for their moms, happening in just a few days! We can't wait to hear how it goes.
